The stock of medical consumables available at the Baubau city health office is incomplete and unable to meet the needs of the Public health center. The purpose of the study was to analyze the management of Medical Consumables during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Baubau City Health Office pharmacy installation. This research is a qualitative research. Interviews were conducted with 5 key informants and 2 additional informants. Data collection techniques used in-depth interview techniques, observation techniques and documentation techniques for validating data using triangulation, namely triangulation of data sources, theory triangulation, and method triangulation. The results showed that the management of Medical Consumables during the covid-19 pandemic had not run optimally, because the planning had not used the ABC method, calculating the maximum and minimum stock, there was still a lack of knowledge of human resources about the planning of Medical Consumables and the frequent delays in collecting usage reports. Public health center. The budget for the provision of medical consumables comes from a special allocation fund for the health sector, but it is still very lacking because it has not been able to meet the planning for the need for medical consumables. Procurement of medical consumables is carried out using the E-Purchasing system but it has not gone well because there are still some providers who cannot fulfill the order due to lack of raw materials and lack of stock of raw materials. Storage of Medical Consumables uses the First In First Out and First Expired First Out system but the storage area is still limited. There are still the number and types of Consumable Medical Materials that have not been ordered by the Public health center at the time of distribution because the stock of supplies at the Pharmacy Installation is not sufficient.

ABSTRACT

A novel coronavirus, COVID-19 is responsible for the current outbreak of pneumonia. As of 16 September 2021, a total of 2,049,750 COVID-19 cases were recorded in Malaysia. In this study, we aimed to describe a cluster of COVID-19 cases among non-clinical staff in a teaching hospital in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. We obtained epidemiological and clinical data from patients with confirmed COVID-19, via phone interviews and patient medical records. We performed chronological mapping of the cases to identify the possible period, mode of transmission, and cluster pattern. Three laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases were identified from the teaching hospital cluster. These three cases were linked epidemiologically to the religious gathering cluster in Malaysia. Seventy-four close contacts consisting of teaching hospital staff were quarantined. The median incubation period was four days (IQR 1-7). The need for intensified surveillance and a high level of alertness is vital to minimise the risk of widespread transmission in Malaysia. © 2022. IIUM Medical Journal Malaysia. All Rights Reserved.

ABSTRACT

The World Health Organization (WHO) designated Covid-19 as a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Therefore, it is not surprising that government leaders in many countries are struggling to get out of the covid-19 outbreak with their respective approaches. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of Selayar Islands Regency government policies in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method with the selection of informants by purposive sampling. The research variable uses the theory of Marsh & Smith (2000) which develops a dialectical model that aims to explain further about the role of actors, actor relations, and their interests in the policy formulation process. The handling of the covid-19 pandemic. The results show that the attitude of the local government in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic case in the Selayar Islands Regency is very serious, this is evidenced by the rapid response in handling Covid-19 cases starting from the emergence of the first case until the time this research was carried out. Coordination between stakeholders in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in the Selayar Islands district has generally been going well, although it can't be said to be optimal. The behavior of the people of the Selayar Islands district in the application of health protocols in general is high enough to prevent the spread of covid-19 in the Selayar Islands Regency, however, there are still a small number of people in the Selayar Islands district who still do not believe in this pandemic.

ABSTRACT

The impact of COVID-19 has made business actors, especially informal sector business actors, to lay off and even terminate employment (PHK). This condition causes the access of informal sector business actors, including to health services, to experience problems. The purpose of the study was to identify the impact of the accessibility dimensions of health services and government policies on the health service preferences of informal sector actors in Makassar City in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The procedure for selecting informants in this study was carried out purposively. The size/number of informants in this study was determined on the basis of the theory of saturation. The informants in this study were people who worked in the informal sector/business actors. Accessibility dimensions based on proximity in the Covid-19 Pandemic era did not affect the preferences of informal sector actors to prioritize self-medication at home if the illness they suffered could still be treated by taking medicine, even though facilities were available. modern health services in the domicile areas of informal sector actors. The dimensions of accessibility based on acceptance in the form of perceptions of health services, the availability of health service facilities and good and quality health human resources, and affordability from geographical and economic aspects in the Covid-19 Pandemic era did not affect the preferences of informal sector actors to continue to prioritize self-medication at home. To maintain public compliance with the transmission of Covid 19, it is necessary to carry out structural interventions in the form of enforcing disciplinary rules and imposing strict sanctions for prokes violators to arouse public awareness from the RT/RW, kelurahan, sub-district and district/city levels.

ABSTRACT

Flipped learning to date has generally been implemented within a blended classroom. However, the growing number of fully online courses and the existence of Covid-19 have shown the need to try using flipped learning in a fully online class. This paper aimed to explore student achievement and perceptions in an online flipped grammar class. A paired-sample t-test showed a significant difference between students' pre-test and post-test scores with a medium effect size after attending the online flipped course for one month. The interview and questionnaire data revealed students' overall positive perceptions toward the introduction of flipped learning within the course. Students mentioned that the flipped approach made the course more interactive and provided them opportunities to ask questions to the teacher with an immediate answer. They also expressed their positive attitude towards the use of different learning platforms (e.g., LMS, Zoom) and modes (synchronous and asynchronous) that could ease their learning experience within the course. Nevertheless, students recommended that the virtual meeting via Zoom needs to be limited in time duration. © 2021 Authors. All Rights Reserved.
